Children’s Ministry registration closes on THURSDAY, September 17th. Register children here!
We are so excited to gather with you in our new building! We will have two in-person gatherings at 9:30 & 11:00 AM.
To practice social distancing, we are only filling to half capacity in the gathering space, and masks will be required for all children and adults ages 7+. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you.
Please register with the number of family members planning to attend to help us best plan for the morning.
We will be livestreaming both gatherings for those of you joining us from home. Watch with us at journeytn.com/livestream
Q: What time will our gatherings take place?
A: We will offer two live gatherings at half capacity (200 max) at 9:30, and 11:00. You also can attend either gathering live online at journeytn.com/livestream . For those who prefer to stay outside, we will have outside viewing and audio areas (weather permitting). Last, we will broadcast on a low-wattage FM transmitter for those who want to listen from their car.
Q: What safety measures should I expect?
A: In addition to social distancing, we will require masks for all attendees age 7 and over. We will provide masks if you need one. There will be hand sanitizer stations throughout the building. We will not be serving coffee until further notice. Exterior and interior doors will remain open (if weather permits) to allow for air circulation and to minimize contact with shared hard surfaces. When the gathering concludes, we will ask people to move outdoors immediately. As you greet each other and socialize, please respect social distancing and wear a mask.
Q: Will we be temperature checking?
A: Yes. We will check the temperature of all staff and volunteers prior to the gatherings.
Q: Why are you requiring masks when it is not mandated to do so for worship gatherings?
A: While it has not been mandated, the Governor, TN Department of Health and the CDC have all stated that masks help fight the spread of COVID-19 and have the potential to save lives. Journey Church follows Jesus’ command to love one another, so when we gather it is an expression of love to wear a mask.
Q: Will registration be required?
A: Registration is HIGHLY encouraged so we can plan seating accordingly and have an idea of how many people we can expect. We will not turn people away who have not registered unless we are at capacity. This is not a ticketed system, nor will you need to check-in when you arrive. This will allow you to know if we have reached our cap of 200 people. We will close registration when the gathering time is full.
Keep in mind that outdoor, drive-in and online options will be available for both services after registration closes.
Q: How will social distancing be maintained?
A: We will seat according to family pods and maintain 6-feet social distancing recommendations. As difficult as it is, we ask you to practice common sense and sensitivity towards others when it comes to handshakes, hugs and personal contact.
Q: How will seating work?
A: We will carefully set up rows of chairs in the gathering space, and create an extra buffer between the people on the platform and those seated. Ushers will seat you as you arrive, filling in from the front to the back and from the middle to the ends of each row so you will not need to step over someone already seated. We will maintain appropriate spacing between those not attending together as a family.
Q: How will we sanitize in between gatherings?
A: Between gatherings, we will spray cloth chairs and wipe surfaces with disinfectant. We will also clean and disinfect bathrooms. Note that we use chemical sanitizing products, with the exception of in our children’s classrooms where we use natural products.
Q: Will we offer Kids Ministry?
A: Initially children will not be gathering on Sunday mornings. We hope that as fall approaches and schools re-open, we will be able to resume these gatherings. In the meantime, our Kids Ministry team is available to connect with families and we are providing activity bags for kids to stay engaged during the in-person gatherings.
Q: How do I know if I should stay home?
A: While we desire to worship with each of you in person, your safety—and the safety of everyone who joins us—is of paramount importance. If you or someone you live with has had a fever, cough, traveled, or been asked to quarantine in the last 14 days, we appreciate your willingness to stay home and help protect others.
Q: What if someone who comes to a gathering tests positive for the virus?
A: We trust that each of us will be responsible to inform one another appropriately. Any physical gathering creates risk, so we ask that each of us minimize it. If we all work together and respect the rules, our exposure should be no more than it is when we go to the store or engage in other activities outside the home.
